Job Description:
Information Technology Services (ITS) at the University at Albany seeks applicants for a Senior Application Developer/Analyst. The successful candidate serves as a subject matter expert in managing, developing, and supporting enterprise applications, including PeopleSoft, the University's ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning). They are responsible for designing, configuring, and maintaining systems and solutions by creating, enhancing, and optimizing capabilities across a wide range of applications and systems. The Senior Application Developer/Analyst will play a critical role in the University's process to identify and implement a new ERP strategy focused on improving the student experience.
The Senior Application Developer/Analyst has excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to cultivate relationships with constituents from front-line staff to campus leadership. They enjoy solving complex problems, identifying creative solutions, and interacting with stakeholders to turn business requirements into technical specifications. The Senior Application Developer/Analyst is expected to work under limited supervision and within a team environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
Programming and Development:
- Develop unique approaches to complicated problems and create solutions that may require the integration of disparate systems running on a variety of technical platforms.
- Design, develop, test, maintain, and document solutions created for the University.
- Build customizations and configurations that ensure propagation to upgraded environments.
- Review of existing system and software design and code; make recommendations for developing and integrating new requirements and improving system, code, and maintenance.
- Apply and observe configuration management practices and established development standards.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Gather customer requirements and build solutions using new and/or existing technology/application systems.
- Work as a team member in the development, analysis, and support of enterprise applications including PeopleSoft Campus Solutions.
- Work closely with various technical and functional departments in implementing recommendations and/or negotiating proposed solutions.
Projects and Operational Activities:
- Work on items within a defined queue of requests, incidents, problems, and projects for assigned service areas.
- Provide day-to-day applications operational support, including quality assurance activities and necessary documentation for tasks performed.
- Monitor enterprise applications, apply appropriate triage skills to application failures, and take appropriate action to maintain service availability.
- Actively participate, as needed, in ITS projects.
- Be available to provide scheduled support and consultation outside normal business hours, including occasional evenings, holidays, or weekends, within reasonable professional obligation and expectation.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by a U.S. Department of Education (DOE) or internationally recognized accrediting organization.
- At least three years of development experience in large relational database systems such as PeopleSoft, Banner, or another ERP environment.
- At least one year of demonstrated programming experience in application development with one or more of the following: Java, JavaScript, PERL, PHP, Python, or ERP development tools.
- Experience effectively translating functional business requirements into relevant technical specifications.
- Experience conducting technical design walk-throughs and peer reviews.
- Experience in organizing work, prioritizing tasks, and managing multiple and changing priorities independently.

Information Technology Services (ITS) at the University at Albany seeks applicants for a Central Business Office Associate, who is responsible for coordinating/processing several operational activities in the ITS department. The Central Business Office (CBO) serves as the hub for all ITS finance and operations. The CBO Associate is an essential member of the team and interacts with multiple departments across the university, including Accounting, Asset Management, Facilities, Human Resources, and Purchasing. The successful candidate enjoys a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment and getting out of the office to visit various locations on campus for equipment deliveries and receiving/disposal of assets. Primary Responsibilities:
Software Licensing:
- Review and respond to software license requests from faculty/staff/students.
- Distribute licenses in accordance with University and ITS policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of software purchases, activation codes, distribution/assignment of software licenses, and chargebacks to departments.
Billing:
- Process monthly billing for ITS activities and track receipt of payments.
- Investigate any discrepancies in revenue.
Asset Management:
- Work collaboratively across ITS to ensure accurate asset management needs and processes are fulfilled in a timely matter.
- Ensure all purchases have the appropriate Asset Management forms/tags when received and disposed of.
- Record accurate information in the Asset Management database, including the addition and removal of assets.
Additional/Other Responsibilities:
- Manage relationships with staff from ITS and other departments on campus to facilitate transactions for all Central Business Office activities.
- Serve as a backup for coverage of reception area.
- Perform all operations in compliance with SUNY and New York State financial / procurement policies.

Job Summary | The Assistant Director (AD) of Student Activities is responsible for planning, facilitating and assisting in the coordination of student club programs on campus. The incumbent will develop programs working with clubs and other campus departments focusing on diversity and inclusion, community involvement/engagement, student leadership and operations as an advocate for student clubs. Job Summary | The Program Administrator, Sr manages activities of the Center of Excellence in Digital Game Development at RPI, also known as the Digital Gaming Hub, administered through the Games and Simulation Arts and Sciences Program in the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences. Director of Client Services
Pay Status and Classification: Exempt, Regular full-time. This is an 12-month position. This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.
Supervisor: Chief Information Officer
Position Purpose:Manages the Client Services and Learning Environments team, handling both personnel and financial aspects. Leads support for students, faculty, and staff by evaluating technical issues and collaborating with ITS (Information Technology Services) peers to implement effective solutions. - Event Support and Logistics: Works with the Assistant Director of Learning Environments to ensure responsive and high quality support for electronic classrooms and events being held on the Union College campus, including Zoom webinars. Provides oversight of work with departments to configure/install audio visual (AV) equipment needed in conference rooms or labs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or Business Administration, and a minimum of 5 years of successful management experience in a service-oriented technology environment, and/or a combination of relevant education, training, certifications, and/or work experience. Master’s degree preferred.
- Proficient in Windows and Apple client hardware and operating systems.
- Proven experience implementing performance metrics for operational analysis and decision-making purposes.
- Strong leadership abilities with a focus on coaching and mentoring.
- Demonstrated experience with IT service management, including overseeing a help desk ticketing system; experience with TeamDynamix preferred.

The annual salary range this position is $95,000.00 - $110,000.00. Job Description:
Information Technology Services (ITS) at the University at Albany seeks applicants for an Asset and Scheduling Assistant to support a campus-wide project to replace all non-Windows 11 compatible computers by Fall 2025. This is a large project with a tight timeline. Faculty, staff, conference room, classroom, and research lab computers will be replaced.
The successful candidate will work both independently and collaboratively as a member of the project team to schedule appointments and rooms, track the availability, procurement, and receipt of computer/hardware assets; generate, edit and manage required reports; and update the asset inventory ensuring its integrity and authority for ongoing use beyond the project. They will have latitude and authority for independent decision-making and have authority to work with faculty, staff and department representatives directly and on behalf of the project. Requires knowledge of different tools/applications and how the data in each is used and related, including O365 applications (Teams, Outlook, Excel, Access, etc.), Smartsheet, and a ticket management application.
The project team members consist of the project manager, the Desktop and Mobile Computing service owner, the Field Support Group Deployment Group supervisor, and the ITS Central Business office, among others. A high degree of integrity in communications to the project team, faculty, staff and department representatives is required, including developing effective communications, and responding with regular and follow up communications to ensure the project needs and expectations are communicated to faculty, staff, and department representatives and their needs are communicated back to the project team.
All work must proceed efficiently and effectively. The work requires a high level of attention to detail and accuracy, ability to follow pre-defined processes and workflows accurately and the ability to work independently, and to make appropriate decisions, as part of a project team. While focus is on following established processes and workflows, they should also be prepared to identify, recommend, or implement continuous improvements to improve efficiency.
They must be able to complete work within scheduled time constraints and maintain a personal working schedule that allows work and daily responsibilities to be completed as scheduled. The successful candidate must have excellent customer service and communication skills, time management and work skills and the ability to work effectively under time constraints and difficult circumstances.
This position reports to the Manager, Desktop and Mobile Computing services, but will also work closely with and respond to questions and direct the work of other members of the project team.
Primary Responsibilities:
Ensure work proceeds without interruption, efficiently and effectively:
- Oversee, schedule, update and monitor required appointments and reservations for computer deployments to faculty, staff, classrooms, and conference rooms.
- Develop, maintain, and revise, as needed, an effective communications strategy to department contacts, their faculty and staff, ITS managers and supervisors to ensure appointments and deployments proceed efficiently and without disruptions.
- Create and maintain accurate records of machine deployments in keeping with on-going expectations for the ITS asset inventory, using appropriate tools and communication methods.
- Oversee, update, and manage all required reports, ensure accurate data is captured, updated, and confirmed through the entire decision-making and deployment processes.
- Track the availability, procurement, and receipt of computer/hardware assets, and update the ITS asset inventory and anticipate and communicate to the manager, the status of needed inventory in a timely manner to ensure work can proceed without interruption.
- Ability to work with different tools/applications, including O365 applications (Teams, Outlook, Excel, Access, etc.); Smartsheet, and a ticket management application.
- Make independent decisions and recommendations in alignment with project strategy and outcomes.
- Assist Service Owner with documenting decisions and ensuring compliance with larger ITS asset inventory expectations to ensure ongoing data integrity.

Geosciences Department Technician

Supervisor: Geosciences Chair
Position Purpose: Plays a crucial role in supporting students and faculty in the Geosciences department by assisting with field trips, laboratory exercises, instrument operation and maintenance, and classroom material preparation. This includes managing field equipment, coordinating off-campus activities, operating and maintaining instrumentation (mass spectrometers and chromatographs), managing supplies, and aiding in laboratory setup and sample preparation. Training available for all tasks. Department instrumentation includes a laser ablation inductively coupled mass spectrometer, ion chromatographs, a scanning electron microscope, and an isotope ratio mass spectrometer with peripherals. Department is busy, energetic, and friendly. Flexible hours possible.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Class Field and Lab Support: Coordinates with faculty to prepare/pack required field equipment and/or supplies for field excursions. Assists faculty with setup and breakdown of classroom laboratory specimens/equipment. Communicates with facilities for any repairs and maintenance that are required in geoscience labs or classrooms. Maintains, orders and upgrades field equipment as necessary. Drive field vehicle and assist with activities for selected student exercises.
- Geochemistry Instrumentation Operation and Maintenance: Assists with operating instrumentation (mass spectrometers, chromatographs, titrator, etc.). Prepares samples and standards analysis, assists faculty operating and maintaining instrumentation in both the stable isotope and ICP-MS geochemistry laboratories. Will be trained to operate the Stable Isotope Mass Spectrometer, ICP-MS, Ion Chromatographs, Metrohm auto-titrator, and Picarro CRDS. Maintains online chemical inventory along with safety data sheets and ensures proper use of inventory tracking systems. Performs routine maintenance of instruments (e.g. change oil, clean parts, change gas bottles, arrange for waste disposal). Troubleshoots and repairs instrumentation when possible and/or arrange consultations with appropriate personnel at the college or outside vendors. Maintain inventories of gasses/supplies for all teaching and research labs. Order gasses, and other supplies for the Geosciences Department and distribute to their destinations.
- Laboratory Work: Maintains Geosciences department shop, weather station, and tool area. Makes polished thin-sections and grain mounts for use in lab exercises and research projects. Repairs and maintains rock, mineral, and sediment sample processing equipment. Prepares specimens (mineral boxes, test kits, fossils) for class exercises.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Geosciences or related fields. Three years relevant experience, or Masters in Geosciences or related fields preferred.
- Must have a valid driver’s license to assist faculty with outdoor field exercises, including driving vans.
- Demonstrated understanding of geological principles.
- Excellent organizational and data management skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Job Summary | The Clinical Case Manager is part of the multidisciplinary, integrated Rensselaer Student Health team of committed professionals dedicated to supporting and promoting student health and wellbeing as an Institute-wide priority. The Clinical Case Manager provides developmentally appropriate services through Clustered Learning, Advocacy and Support for Students (CLASS), with a focus in three main areas: 1) clinical case management, 2) consultation and referral services, and 3) outreach and prevention education. |

Guide individual fundraisers and development staff by providing recommendations for potential major donors for cultivation and solicitation. Analyze data to help drive prospect discovery and prioritize the top prospective donors for qualification by development staff. Create lists on an ad-hoc basis as requested by prospect development team members or fundraising partner to support fundraising initiatives by incorporating the use of database segmentation analysis, external resources, electronic screenings, and peer-review/focus group results. Assist in managing pipeline and goal reporting for the campaign and ensure progress toward annual goals is documented and continually updated for major, principal, and capital fundraising outcomes in close collaboration with fundraising staff. Collaborate with various teams across the division to gather input for refining prospect portfolios. Contribute to the division's focus on improving fundraising performance through effective portfolio optimization. Utilize business intelligence tools to assess and enhance the composition of fundraisers' portfolios. Analyze fundraiser portfolio activity to evaluate the success of outreach strategy. Conduct in-depth data analyses to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement in prospect management. Use data-driven insights to inform decision-making processes and refine prospecting strategies. Assist in the maintenance of fundraiser portfolios and discovery pools, including through the use of batch upload tools. Educate frontline fundraisers in applying analytics toward achieving their individual goals. |

Job Summary | The Lally School of Management at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute seeks applications for a tenure-track (or tenured) faculty position at the Associate Professor level in Business Analytics/Supply Chain Management starting Fall 2024. Candidates must have a PhD degree from an accredited university in Analytics, Operations Research, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or a closely related field, along with demonstrated evidence to produce original and innovative scholarly work with publications in premier business journals. The successful candidate will join the School either as a tenure-track assistant professor, or as an associate professor, based on teaching and research experience and success. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated potential and commitment to effective teaching in our graduate and undergraduate degree programs in supply chain and business analytics, as well as provide service to the School of Management and to Rensselaer. The position requires excellence in research in the area of supply chain and analytics, effective written communication skills, and strong technical skills in areas such as analytical modeling, data management, machine learning and computation. Demonstrated interest in emerging technologies including artificial intelligence and Blockchain and in topics relevant to global shifts in supply chains would be a plus. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to engage with and develop research initiatives aligned both within the Lally School and with the new strategic research initiatives at Rensselaer. Job Summary | The Director of the Severino Center for Technological Entrepreneurship (the “Severino Center”) will work with the Assistant Vice President, RPIVentures (“RPIV”) and the Vice President, Office of Strategic Alliances and Translation (“OSAT”) in shaping and advancing the entrepreneurial ecosystem at RPI and the region. In collaboration with RPIV, they will develop a strategic vision for the Severino Center, aligning it with the Institute’s priorities and entrepreneurship programs. This includes fostering innovation, promoting collaboration, and ensuring RPI’s leadership in regional entrepreneurship and innovation. The Director will actively engage with the Deans of the School of Engineering and the Lally School of Management regarding the development of a modern entrepreneurship curriculum. They will also collaborate with faculty, students, industry partners, and community organizations to drive initiatives that support startups, technology transfer, and commercialization. Additionally, the Director will oversee program development, mentorship, and outreach efforts to empower aspiring entrepreneurs and foster a culture of innovation. |

Job Summary | The Sr. Business Manager reports to the Vice President of Information Services and Technology, and Chief Information Officer. Job Summary | The Director of Real Estate directs all activities associated with land management/leases; real estate revenue activities; building and land acquisition/sales; building and land appraisals; all Rensselaer property-related tax payments; Rensselaer tax exemption requirements; and special activities, that include leases and subleases of external facilities, fraternity/sorority land/building leases and finances; estate activities and community issues. About EMPAC | Curtis R. Priem Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center “The concert hall of the 21st century has arrived. But in addition, the huge building, laid out on a hillside, houses a 400-seat theater with comparable versatility; two black-box studios, one geared more toward sound, the other toward sight; and space for rehearsals and other uses. And for their electronic and data needs, all these components have access to one of the world’s biggest supercomputers.” The New York Times (10/08/2008) At the Curtis R. Priem Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center (EMPAC) at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (Institute), the arts, sciences, and technology meet under one roof in four exceptional venues. This incredible 220,000 square foot building, designed by London-based Grimshaw Architects, opened in 2008 and is an unmatched model of acoustics, infrastructure, and architectural engineering with state-of-the-art performing arts infrastructure and architectural engineering. EMPAC’s concert hall features 1,165 seats with the ability to sculpt the acoustical soundscape for musical performances and equipment for screens, projections, and staging elements. The Goodman Studio/Theater and Studio 2 are versatile spaces that can be used to create immersive experiences utilizing both projection and sound technology. EMPAC’s theater features computer-controlled rigging, a sixty-foot fly tower, and advanced recording audio and video recording technology. Beyond the four core venues, EMPAC houses residency studios, research offices, green room, soloists/conductor suites, changing rooms, and the main lobby level, as well as café and mezzanine levels, which are often used by students as studying and meeting spaces. EMPAC currently commissions, presents, and researches interdisciplinary time-based visual art and the entire range of performing arts genres. Job Summary | The Executive Director of EMPAC will guide and deliver on its mission and vision as a global center at the intersection of the arts, science, and technology. They will be accountable for a strategic direction, business model, and adaptive change that are in alignment with the Institute’s Rensselaer Forward plan, including the goal to create the most welcoming and inclusive community possible for faculty, staff, students, and the external community EMPAC serves. The Executive Director will maintain a presence both on and off campus by actively participating in the community and establishing international visibility at relevant conferences and other events that increase exposure and access to artists that could curate, produce, or be presented by EMPAC. These activities are focused on preserving an integrated interdisciplinary pedagogical approach to research, programs, and campus events that inspire active participation by faculty and students in and attendance at EMPAC. The Executive Director will partner with each of the School Deans and Institute Administration to coordinate student learning outcomes, activating EMPAC as a hub for student learning on campus. They will oversee, inspire, and collaborate with a dedicated staff while investing in them and securing the resources that ensure EMPAC remains at the forefront of technological advancements. In collaboration with Institute Advancement and the President, the Executive Director will establish and maintain a portfolio of donor relationships that support the capital and operating needs of EMPAC, including its facilities, programs, and research. Additionally, the Executive Director will spearhead plans with the Office of Community Engagement and Communications to engage with local and regional organizations, as well as too raise the unique profiles of both EMPAC and the Institute in the region and on national and international levels. Qualifications | Qualifications The successful candidate will have a minimum of a master’s degree, or equivalent experience, and 8-10 years of senior management expertise in commissioning, promoting, programming, producing, and/or presenting contemporary music, theater, dance, multi-media, or other experimental creative industry initiatives. A comprehensive understanding of associated production, capacity utilization (both venue and staff), audience development, and venue management is important. Although experience in an academic environment is helpful, those with demonstrable results in nonprofit or corporate structures are welcome to pursue this unique opportunity. Exceptional relationship management, donor cultivation, and creative industries expertise with leading producers and artists at the national and international level is preferred. The capacity to work flexible hours on evenings and weekends is required in best serving the needs of numerous stakeholders. Supervisor: Vice President and Chief of Staff
Position Purpose: Under general direction by the Vice President and Chief of Staff, Office of the President, works collaboratively with various departments, including Student Affairs, Human Resources, Academic Affairs, Campus Safety and the Chief Diversity Officer to ensure the College’s adherence to Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) Amendments to the Clery Act, New York State Education Law Article 129-B, and other federal and state laws governing gender-based misconduct, discrimination, harassment and equal opportunity. Plays a pivotal role in fostering and securing a nurturing environment conducive to academic and personal growth of all College community members.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Compliance: Facilitates compliance with all procedures, requirements and timeframes outlined in the College’s Title IX Policy, Gender-based Misconduct Policy, and the Policy Prohibiting Discrimination, Harassment and Retaliation in Employment. Leads an effort to review and revise policies in response to changes in governing laws, regulations, and guidance. Reviews and compiles reports in compliance with federal and state law and to identify and address any patterns or systemic problems of reports of harassment and misconduct within the College community. Completes annual assessment report of progress to goals.
- Process Oversight: Oversees and coordinates investigations, responses, and resolutions to complaints under the Title IX Policy, the Gender-based Misconduct Policy, and the Policy Prohibiting Discrimination, Harassment and Retaliation in Employment. Assures that investigation and resolution processes are conducted in a fair, timely, impartial, respectful, and thorough manner.
- Collaboration & Partnership: Collaborates with colleagues in Student Affairs and Human Resources to identify topics, design and deliver student and employee training including compliance content training (e.g. NCAA Title IX requirements, new student orientation requirements, student training pursuant to New York Education Law Article 129-B, etc.). Coordinates with local organizations and service providers to ensure our community members have access to confidential resources. Manages partnerships with other external agencies with which the College has a partnership in executing its responsibilities under Title IX and other applicable laws and regulations.
- Supervision: Selects, trains, assigns and oversees designated roles including Deputy Title IX Coordinators, investigators, adjudication panel members, appellate panel members and advisors; ensures all are adequately trained in compliance with federal and New York State law.
Qualifications:

- Extensive experience working on compliance with Title IX, Title VII, ADA, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Section 504 and related regulatory requirements.
- Certification and/or training as required by federal and New York State law to serve in the position, or ability to obtain such certification and training prior to commencement of employment.

Compensation
The annual salary range this position is $115,000.00 - $123,000.00. Except for roles with a set rate of pay, the wage/salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Athletics Equipment Manager
Supervisor: Assistant Director of Athletics - Business Operations
Pay status and classification: Exempt, Regular full-time. This is a 12-month position.
Position Purpose: Oversees, organizes, and directs all aspects of the athletics equipment area in support of the mission and core values of Union College. Union College sponsors 26 intercollegiate sports, 24 in Division III, with Ice Hockey competing at Division I.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Operations: Manages the day to day services of the athletics equipment room. Coordinates laundry room operations with coaches to ensure needs are met. Maintains inventory for accurate equipment and apparel records. Oversees distribution, collection and maintenance of records. Collaborates with Hockey Equipment Manager to ensure successful oversight of services for programs.
- Safety: Ensures proper fitting and adjustment of equipment for intercollegiate programs to provide a safe environment for student-athletes. Ensures all equipment and apparel is ready for safe use and remains current with industry standards for safety. Successfully maintains Athletic Equipment Manager Association (AEMA) certification.
- Administration: Oversees the purchasing of equipment and apparel for intercollegiate sport programs. Collaborates with coaches for program needs, create purchase orders, projecting apparel and equipment budgets. Builds relationships with athletics vendors. Continually evaluates policies and procedures to ensure effectiveness of equipment room operations. Hires, trains, supervises and evaluates staff of work-study workers. Adheres to NCAA, College and athletic department policies. Pitches in to assist colleagues as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 3 years of successful experience in athletics equipment operations and/or a combination of relevant education, training, certifications, and/or work experience, including football and ice hockey.
- Knowledge of maintaining equipment for ice hockey and football to ensure safety.
- Athletic Equipment Managers Association (AEMA certification) or the intent to complete the certification once eligible.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends for equipment operations at practices and games, which include home and away contests.
- Ability to lift moderately heavy items (up to 50 lbs.), and stand, bend and stoop for extended periods of time.
- Must possess or obtain a valid New York State driver’s license.
- Thorough understanding and working knowledge of federal, state, local, and NCAA, rules, policies and procedures.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including attention to detail.
- Effective computer skills for maintaining accurate records, budget forecasting and purchasing of equipment and apparel.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and be self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Able to exercise exceptional judgment, ensure strict confidentiality, and demonstrate outstanding professionalism in a range of situations.
- Able to support, contribute to, and strengthen a vibrant, culturally diverse, and inclusive learning community of students, alumni, faculty, and fellow professionals.
